A Community-Supported Enterprise in Peacham, Vermont
Since the closing of the Bayley Hazen Store in 2002, Peacham residents had been without a
local gathering place for coffee, food and conversation. Several community members took on
the renovation of the old Union Store, and in August 2014 the Peacham Café opened!
It is now a community hub, a market for locally-produced food and a destination eatery for people from far and wide.
Good coffee. Good food. Good company.
We offer a simple menu, with high quality breakfasts; lunches; order-ahead dinners; brunch on the weekends; and (soon!) Sunday community dinners. And of course, good coffee!
PS: Everything can be made to go.
The Peacham Café is open!
It's been a great summer and a gorgeous fall. As of October 13, our new winter hours are:
Thursday - Friday 7 - 2
Saturday and Sunday 9 - 2
We are brainstorming ideas with you for evening meals, music, poetry, fundraising and events during the winter season. We're eager to hear your thoughts/ideas.
Our Operators, Chuck Gallagher and partner Mercy Browne, reopened the Café on Tuesday July 12, 2022. For those of you who don’t know Chuck, he was a resident of Peacham for 29 years, raising his kids here and becoming friends with practically everybody. In recent years he’s been in Oregon, where he met Mercedes Browne. Mercy and her former husband Bob co-owned and operated Cassidy's Restaurant in Portland, Oregon —still thriving after 40 years— so she’s a great person to partner with at our Café. Chuck and Mercy are eager to meet you and hear your thoughts about the Café, so please stop by and help taste-test the cookies.
As always thank you for your support of your Café.
